I read this book several years ago, yet remember it as if I read it yesterday. That is how affecting is the protagonist’s various stories. You REALLY learn how it would feel to be rounded up as a captive & marched to your enslavement. Yet the main character has the character to forgive all, becoming who she was meant to be all along.
